Edinburgh Art Fair 2011

This years sees the Edinburgh Art Fair celebrate its seventh successive year. Over a relatively short space of time we have seen the fair rise in stature to become one of the most respected and anticipated events of its type on the international arts calendar.

For 2011 not only will be be welcoming back many of the galleries who have become firm favourites with our visitors but we are delighted to also be bringing in some exciting new galleries with some absolutely stunning new artists and artworks which are sure to prove popular with the anticipated audience of 12,000 art lovers.

First time art buyers as well as serious collectors will again be well catered for with a broad range of original artworks from recent graduates and self taught artists being shown alongside many hundreds of professional artists and printmakers such as Peter Howson, John Bellany, Alexander Millar, David Hockney, Alan Davie and Marcel Dyf.

International Flavour

As well as a strong representation from each of the home nations we are again delighted to be welcoming a large contingent of overseas galleries and galleries specialising in the work of overseas artists.

This includes Artêria Art Gallery making the long trip from Canada, Galerie le Siants from Spain and from Ireland, Wilson Fine Art and Sol Art Gallery will again be joining us.

Specialising in the work of Russian and Eastern European artists we again welcome back Artists of Russia, Mayflower Art Gallery and Danusha Fine Arts, all with a range of new works commissioned especially for the fair.

2d or 3d?

This year again sees a large representation of 3D artists with some exquisite sculpture, ceramics and glass on show including a stand dedicated to the art of glassmaking.

Cohesion Glass Network, occupying stand position A1, will be showing some outstanding glassworks such as this stunning piece of Mould Blown Glass from Phil Vickery titled "Transient Thoughts".

There will also be some stunning Cold Cast bronze sculptures from Louise Giblin on the Saffron Art Gallery stand.


Taught by Antony Gormley, Louise is working on a series of Olympian sculptures to mark the 2012 Olympic games - this will include bodycasts of Kriss Akabussi MBE, Dame Kelly Holmes and Sally Gunnell OBE amongst others.

Cafe, Bar & Restaurant

Baron

The Gallery Restaurant and Bar is open daily for breakfast rolls, hot and cold beverages, light snacks, soups, sandwiches, cakes, wraps and lunches. All of this is complimented by the fully licensed and stocked wine bar where you can sit in comfort and unwind from the bustle of the fair whilst considering your purchases.


There is a further bar which will be open throughout the fair - The Bistro Bar - which is situated at the far end of the concorse.


Situated in the main exhibition hall between stands D2 and D3, beside the charity wall, the Coffee Station will be open throughout the art fair opening times serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and a range of cookies and muffins.
